St. Joseph Academy held their 1st Annual “Heaven Left the Lights On” color run at Walton Park. The students ran or walked the .7 mile route while getting colors thrown on them! The run benefited the Smile for Brooklyn Foundation, in honor of former SJA student, Brooklyn Smith who passed last year due to DIPG.
In addition to funding pediatric cancer research, Smile for Brooklyn now helps support families currently in the fight with their cost of utility expenses! Heaven Left the Lights On seeks to alleviate financial burdens families face, and allows them to place their emphasis on their DIPG WARRIOR!
This run was a great way to end our school year and also establish a scholarship in Brooklyn’s memory. We celebrated with a healthy lunch, some Kona Ice and plenty of smiles, especially for Brooklyn.
