Timeless means not restricted to a particular time or date or changes in fashion.
Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen is timeless, which is why the Saint Joseph Academy middle school students read the novel. Students welcomed the challenging read and learned how to interpret Austen’s 19th-century writing style.
The students celebrated the marriages of the beloved characters with a Pride and Prejudice Party. We dressed as our favorite characters, memorized significant lines from the novel, and prepared food and drinks from the time period.
Lastly, students saw their favorite characters on stage at Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park. The play was called Miss Bennet: Christmas at Pemberley. It was a sequel to Pride and Prejudice centered around Mary Bennet.
“I declare after all there is no enjoyment like reading! How much sooner one tires of anything than of a book!” [said
